美容院デビュー first haircut
Asian hair is very different from Caucasian hair, resulting in high anxiety and risk when visiting a hair salon. But hair won't stop growing just because you're afraid of your hair looking like a Cleopatra wig, so off I went last week to a popular hair salon in downtown Ann Arbor.
My order: angled bob.
Perhaps due to the fact that my hair in fair for a Japanese, the photo I took when I got back home doesn't look so bad at all. But the real verdict must be given after how well it does once we are out of the reach of the stylist.
First check point: after washing and drying my hair, I stood in front of the mirror and was disappointed to see how there was no sign of the sharp silhouette I saw and liked at the salon.
Then the morning after check: nooooooo, the ends of my hair is blatantly chopped horizontally and look blunt. Plus, I can't seem to recreate the look she gave me at all on my own.
So all in all, I sadly do have to say I wasn't completely happy with the results.
But I think I will return to the salon as the place itself is nice, close from home, and I do like the style she gave me - Taishi liked it and so did a lot of my friends, so it can't be all wrong, right?
